Customer Update

Over the past few weeks here Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, we have been working hard to establish a new performance schedule for Disney’s The Lion King in line with current government restrictions on live performances. While we are saddened to have had to reduce our audience capacity by 50%, we have been encouraged by the support of customers who have been able to attend performances since the show opened on Friday 31 December.

We realise that many people will have been disappointed to have had their tickets cancelled and we share in their disappointment, as we aim to provide a positive and memorable theatrical experience to each and every one of our customers.

Due to current circumstances, we have been receiving an unusually high number of refund requests from customers in the days leading up to performances. In recent days, we have offered first refusal on these newly available tickets to customers whose bookings had been affected by the initial round of restrictions brought in on 7 December, namely performances up to and including 9 January.  Once these customers had been contacted, we placed the remaining tickets on general sale.

We acknowledge that many customers will have received correspondence today, 5 January, regarding their bookings for 11 – 30 January, which were affected by further restrictions brought in on 17 December, and who will therefore have been disappointed to see tickets become available for performances this week. We would like to reassure these customers that they will be offered first refusal on tickets that may become available over the coming weeks, and we advise these customers to keep an eye on updates from Ticketmaster via email. We also advise any customers who are looking for tickets to keep an eye on our social media for updates on tickets that may become available for general sale.

We appreciate your patience and understand the disappointment these measures have caused for our customers. We are very sorry that we have to take these steps and we are doing all we can to be as fair and reasonable as possible.

On behalf of everyone at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, we thank you for your understanding at this difficult time.
