ARRIVING BY CAR

If travelling by car, be advised that the theatre does not have its own car park and traffic restrictions may be in place on the evening of any particular event, so please plan your journey in advance.

To reach the theatre from O’Connell Street, turn left onto Eden Quay, then take a right across Talbot Memorial Bridge. Move into the left lane and take left turn down City Quay. Then take a right onto Lime Street and a left on to Hanover Street. This will bring you onto Cardiff Lane which is to the back of Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.

Q-Park Grand Canal Square

The nearest parking facility is Q-Park Grand Canal Square located on Chimney View. The car park has 163 spaces with 70 of these available to pre-book each day, and 3 disabled spaces. Customers are advised to pre-book their parking spaces here.

The Convention Centre Dublin Underground Car Park

Street Parking

Please note that there are street parking spaces around the theatre, nearby Macken Street and Cardiff Lane. However, they can be very limited.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Due to its central location overlooking the Grand Canal Dock, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is easy to reach from all parts of Dublin using public transport. Bus, Dart, Luas and Rail services all operate to stations within a short walk from the theatre.

Bus

Dublin Bus offers accessible and frequent services from all over Dublin to within a 10-minute walk to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. Routes 1, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, P29, 47, 52, 56a, and 77a all operate to Grand Canal Dock, the closest bus stop to the theatre. Alternatively, you can use any bus operating to Westland Row / Pearse Station and enjoy the 10-minute walk to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. Route 151 operates to the Docklands on the Northside, approximately a 15-minute walk away.

DART

The closest DART stations to the theatre are Grand Canal Dock, if coming from the south city, and Pearse Station, if coming from the north city. Both stations are approximately a 10-minute walk away from the theatre.

Luas

The Luas station closest to the theatre is Mayor Square (NCI) on the Red Line, heading east towards The Point. The walk from the station to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre takes you across the Samuel Beckett Bridge and lasts approximately 10 minutes.

Train

If you arrive to Dublin by train, the nearest train station to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is Connolly Station, at an approximately 20-minute walk. Using public transport, both Connolly Station and Heuston Station are easily accessible by Luas.

At Heuston Station, the Luas stop is located just outside the doors. Please use the Red Line terminating at The Point.

While Connolly Station also has its own Luas station, it is necessary to cross on foot to Busáras Luas Stop to reach the correct branch of the Red Line and take the Luas terminating at The Point.
