Celine Byrne travels to Moscow to rehearse for LA BOHÈME (30 Nov - 4 Dec)
Celine Byrne, Ireland’s star international soprano, is flying out to Moscow tomorrow 25 October for eight days of rehearsals with The Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow, ahead of their forthcoming run of LA BOHÈME here at Bord Gais Energy Theatre (30 Nov – 4 Dec).
‘I am really looking forward to this production, enthused Celine, ‘as I have seen the video, and the sets and costumes are great and the soloists will be some of the best ever seen in Ireland. In particular, the tenor who plays Rodolfo, opposite my role as Mimi, is Aleksey Tatarintsev, who
regularly guests with the Bolshoi and has very recently won the coveted Golden Mask award for ‘Best Actor in an Opera’. I think this could be something very special’
One of the world’s most popular operas, originally premiered in Turin in 1896, this new interpretation by the internationally acclaimed Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow will star Celine in the leading role of MIMI in three of the five performances (Wed 30 Nov, Fri 2 Dec and Sun 4 Dec).
On Thursday December 1st and Saturday December 3rd, the role of Mimi will be played by Novaya Opera’s own star Soprano Elizaveta Soina.
