Bord Gáis Energy Theatre are delighted to unveil its most spectacular season line-up in the theatre’s history, announcing 13 brand new shows encompassing musicals, drama and comedy, as part of the fantastically festive ‘UNWRAP 2017’ launch event.

To mark the special occasion, we announced twelve sparkly new shows to our already jam-packed and fun-filled 2017 season kicking off with the return of the astounding MOSCOW CITY BALLET with two of Tchaikovsky’s best-loved ballets SWAN LAKE and SLEEPING BEAUTY, followed by MOSCOW STATE OPERA production of CARMEN starring Ireland’s own Celine Byrne.
Drama and comedy will be centre stage in our new season programme with SLEEPLESS, the enchanting new romantic musical comedy based on the original story and screenplay of the movie classic, Sleepless In Seattle taking to the stage in May 2017, followed by EVITA with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice and featuring one of best loved songs in musical theatre, ‘Don’t Cry For Me Argentina.’ The wonder and magic doesn’t stop there with WONDERLAND, an enchanting musical adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, the brilliantly funny comedy THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG will leave audiences aching with laughter, along with the biggest party in Dublin as Danny and Sandy fall in love all over again in the No.1 greatest musical, GREASE.

The ADDAMS FAMILY will be moving into the Docklands neighbourhood for this spectacular musical comedy featuring a live orchestra and extraordinary original score sure to entertain whether you are 12 or 312! The family fun continues with HAIRSPRAY, the irresistible feel-good show that will have you smiling for days and CRAZY FOR YOU, the ultimate feel-good musical starring Tom Chambers (Top Hat and winner of Strictly Come Dancing) featuring a fabulous score from the Gershwin brothers’ songbook.

Opening the autumn calendar in style, the multi award-winning MISS SAIGON, from the creators of Les Misérables will take to the stage for a seven week run telling the epic love story of young bar girl Kim, orphaned by war, who falls in love with an American GI called Chris – but their lives are torn apart by the fall of Saigon. Last but not least, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is continuing to offer the best in home-grown entertainment with ANGELA ASHES; Frank McCourt’s memoir ANGELA’S ASHES comes to the Bórd Gáis Energy Theatre in an emotional telling of a childhood in Limerick and beyond, featuring unforgettable songs and melodies, told with a rare lyricism and a warm inimitable sense of humour.

We look forward to welcoming you soon to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre and continuing to offer the best of home- grown and international entertainment to Irish audiences.
