Bord Gáis Energy is giving talent from across Ireland the chance to support chart-topping girl band The Saturdays at a once-off charity concert at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. This special concert marks Bord Gáis Energy’s second annual event in aid of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and all proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to the charity. Bord Gáis Energy will also match the amount for every ticket sold.
Commenting on the show, Una Healy of The Saturdays said: “We are very excited about performing at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre for this special event. It’s fantastic that Bord Gáis Energy is supporting the Society of the St Vincent de Paul which does really great work in communities throughout Ireland. I always love performing at home and to know that this concert is for such a good cause will make the night extra special. We can’t wait to be a part of it.”
The concert will also mark the one year anniversary of Bord Gáis Energy’s sponsorship of the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre and to celebrate there will be lots of spectacular pre-theatre entertainment for passers-by to enjoy before the show.
Dave Kirwan, managing director, Bord Gáis Energy said: “We are delighted to confirm The Saturdays show in aid of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Last year’s Bill Bailey event was a great success, raising €200,000, and we are confident that we’ll raise a similar donation this year.
“Our sponsorship of the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is really important to us not only for enabling us to reward our customers but it allows us to give something back to the communities in which we operate. We’re delighted also to celebrate our one year anniversary of the sponsorship this year and we hope that music and theatre fans alike will join us for what promises to be a memorable occasion on 28th March”, he continued.
Geoff Meagher, National President, Society of St. Vincent de Paul said: “We are delighted to work with Bord Gáis Energy on this fantastic event. All monies raised will be used to directly assist the many individuals and families who request our help in communities all over Ireland.”
The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is one of Ireland’s leading entertainment venues with over 420,000 people attending shows since March last year. In 2012 it hosted 314 shows including the best of Broadway and the West End as well as popular music acts such as Christy Moore, Jools Holland and The Chieftains.
This year the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre plans to mirror this success with 330 shows planned for 2013. To date 200,000 tickets have already been purchased for shows such as The Lion King, Hairspray and the award winning musical Wicked. For further information visit www.bordgaisenergyrewards.ie.
