The Moscow State Opera production of CARMEN
It has been four years since The Moscow State Opera brought their production of CARMEN to Dublin and the response was so overwhelming that a return was inevitable.
Sung in French with English subtitles, this traditional staging is directed by George Isaakyan, one of Russia’s foremost Directors and multi-winner of the country’s most prestigious award, The Golden Mask.
The sets have been designed in association with The Picasso Foundation, which together with the costumes and Bizet’s wonderful score, guarantees an authentic Spanish feel to the whole performance.
Celine Byrne, Ireland’s own international soprano will be starring in the role of Michaela every evening, and the Orchestra of The Moscow State Opera will accompany the soloists, a magnificent chorus, and the children’s choir provided by The Junior Musicals Theatre School of Bray.
CARMEN — a real treat for opera lovers and those who are new to this magnificent art form.
